-Not 'One of the'.
타케히코 이노우에와 동시대에 살며 그의 작품을 볼 수 있다는 것은 행운이라고 생각하는데,
이것은 농구로 치자면 살아서 마이클조던의 경기를 볼 수 있는 것 같은거라고 생각한다.
사실 한창 만화 많이보던 시절에는 겐시의 '시마과장'이나, 나오키의 '마스터키튼'이 내겐 베스트였었는데.
이런류의 소위 '지적인'만화가 주는 약간은 더 고상한 재미와 감동이
슬램덩크의 그것보다는 한차원 높은 무언가로 느껴졌기때문이다.
시간이 흘러 겐시상이 대하역사물같은 시마씨리즈를 내놓고 계시는 작금의 시절이 되고보니
나역시 좀 더 경건한 마음으로 작가의 고매한 경제사상을 습득해야만 할 것 같은 의무감에
'시마상무'를 집어들게 되는데.
이러다 보니 가장 큰 문제는 전보다 '재미가 없다'는 점.
만화는 역시만화. 지적인 것도 좋고 고상한 것도 좋지만.
뭣보다 '잼있어야 하지않겠는가!'(듣고있나 겐시상?)
베가본드는 정말 재미있다/완전히 몰입하게 만든다.
요새것 중에 이것도 되게 잼있다.
오랫만에 보는 감정의 '디테일'이 살아있는 만화.
속는셈치고 한번봐봐. 강추.
